Date Posted: 7/1/09
If you are a Top Secret (or TS/SCI) cleared Web Developer, here is an opportunity to be involved in some of the neatest Intelligence Community work that exists.

Our confidential client does what can best be described as Applied Research and Development for the Intelligence Community and DoD.  They tackle the toughest Data Visualization and Engineering problems that exist.  They are a mid-sized, niche firm that is often chosen over the larger integrators to be the prime contractor on critical efforts.

Our client's team at a classified government location near Oxon Hill, MD has been developing innovative solutions for their customer for over a decade, and they have recently been awarded a 5-year extension and growth of their prime contract.  They are searching for a creative, innovative Web Developer to join their growing team.

In this role, you will utilize various Web 2.0 technologies to do the following:
- investigate bleeding edge technologies and use them to build compelling internet applications
- build Data Visualization and Pattern Identification tools that work on massive, disparate data sets
- make Intelligence Analysts more productive and effective through sophisticated user interfaces

You'll be part of a small, agile web development team, and you'll be able to get involved in all aspects of solutions (design, development, test, deployment, all architectural layers, etc.).

To succeed in this role, you'll need the following:
- an active Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI is a plus)
- expertise in the mainstays of web development (HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, AJAX, etc.)
- strong skills in Javascript (Dojo experience is a plus)
- web development experience in PHP, JSP, RoR, ASP, Django, or a related technology

If you've worked with large data sets, done database programming, and worked with Unix, Linux, and Open Source technologies liek Python, that's a plus, but our client is more concerned with your motivation, drive, and ability to learn than they are with which particular technology you've used in the past.

This company isn't a body shop.  It is a solutions firm that primes on high-profile contracts with long-term customers and works hard to retain its people.  The benefits are outstanding - exceptional insurance, tuition assistance, and a very generously company-funded 401(k) plan. In addition to 10 paid holidays, you'll start with 4 weeks of PTO your first year and then move to 5 weeks of PTO after that.
